The Bike Church will be hosting a regional bike conference the weekend of February 20th and 21st.
Structure
The conference, planned for Saturday and Sunday will be composed of 9 workshops, five Saturday afternoon and four Sunday morning (scheduled mostly in pairs so that the most someone could attend are six). The conference will conclude with a round table discussion on future bay area bike project coordination.
Workshops
Here is a final list of workshops for the weekend:
Mobile Bike Repair: A new project will be presenting how they've structured their efforts around mobile bike repair.
Bike Library: The UCSC Bike Library will be presenting info on their yearly Bike Culture & Community class and the bicycle library that was born from the class.
Safer Spaces: An open discussion on the ways to keep a shop a safe space for people of all ages, genders, and sexual orientation.
Wheel-building Workshop: The step by step process of building a bomb-proof wheel.
Frame-building and Modification: A frame builder goes over the ins and outs of building, repairing, and modifying bicycle frames.
Serving Spanish Speaking Patrons: An open discussion about experiences and ideas about how to better serve Spanish speaking individuals.
Lowbagger Touring: How to tour with little or now money, from building your own stove to camping like a ninja.
Internal 3-speeds: A workshop designed to make people more comfortable with those mysterious and frightening hub inner-workings
Consensus Decision-making: How do you run a meeting and make sure every voice is heard? Here's why consensus decision-making might be the answer and how it works.
Wrap-up meeting: A discussion on what worked this weekend, what didn't, and a discussion on future Bay Area collaboration.

Registration
Registration will be Saturday the 20th from 10am to 2:30pm. We'll accept donations to help recoup expenses, but no one will be turned away.
Lodging
Bike Church friends and mechanics will be sharing their homes with participant who are interested.
